Why did I choose civil engineering?

First of all, I want to explain why did I choose to become engineer, then I will try to explain the reasons of studying in Civil Engineering department. 

Engineering, in my humble opinion, is everywhere, fields like IT, building, manufacturing, food producing and many other fields. Actually, everyone around us is an engineer, the only difference, is that they use their engineering skills in different areas. For instance, my grandfather built the bridge across the river in the village, however he never studied engineering or bridge building, I think he is outstanding engineer. Also, my mother prepared great chicken pie for the New Year, I think she is a great engineer too, because she prepared suitable mixture of dough, then put the chicken meat in it, and after that, chose appropriate temperature in the stove. So that is my understanding of engineering, that engineer is someone who knows the principles of working of some certain things, who creates new design, who find out the solution of problems in our daily life, who knows how to deal with problems, who develops and cultivates everything around him and never stop working for the society.

Now, let us turn to the point why I did choose Civil Engineering. When I was 10 years old, I had a dream, that one day I will become Civil engineer, and build smart house for my family, because every summer my father makes repairing works in our house, the reason is that initially there was no any well engineering design of building house. That is why, every year it needs repairing works, at least 1 time. So, my smart house will allow my parents to have rest on summer, and don`t even think about the repairing. 

Building is my passion. You make something which then will be used by the people, and its dimension are quite big, people can live in that buildings, work and do the stuff which will then, I think, have an impact on developing of Kazakhstan. 

Overall, there are many other reasons why I did choose civil engineering, reasons like that in Kazakhstan professionals in this sphere is in high demand. However, I don`t think that they are important as my passion to build.
